Chris Coulter - Levitation Project

WHY DO YOU RIDE FOR THE LEVITATION PROJECT?

It's out of Utah and I get to work closely with the owners. I Really like what they have been doing bringing up their own riders and helping young kids to make their dreams come true. Plus the product is sweet.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN YOU RIDE FOR THE LEVITATION PROJECT AND HOW IS IT DIFFERENT THAN RIDING FOR OTHER COMPANIES?

Levitation Project is out there on a daily basis with their own filmers, photographers riding and capturing the moments. Helping their riders to get shots for their video parts, mag and web coverage. It's more than just a brand making products, it's more about a lifestyle.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LEVITATION PROJECT PRODUCT?

Can't pick one, the socks, base layer, balaclavas, shorts, hoodies. Every product kicks ass!!!

WHAT DOES SNOWBOARDING MEAN TO YOU?

Snowboarding is what my life has revolved around for the last fifteen years. Most of my friends have been made through snowboarding. It has brought me to unbelievable places on our planet. It has brought me much pain and even more happiness. Most every thing I know about life has been learned through snowboarding in some way. Snowboarding pretty much means the world to me.

WHAT SACRIFICES HAVE YOU MADE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE?

Nothing too crazy got very focused at a young age on snowboarding. If any thing it helped keep me out of trouble. Not going to college was a pretty big sacrifice, just wanted to get out there and put my self in the right place at the right time shred wise. Lots of injuries come with pushing your self to keep progressing, but you learn a lot about life off the snow from getting hurt, the thing is if your hurt for long you miss out on lots of learning on the shred.

WORST JOB YOU EVER HAD?

They all are the worst!!! Home Demolition and remodel, car detailing, managing a Little Caesars, Projectionist, Janitor and landscaping. I just want to be in the mountains they make me feel good.

WHAT ARE THE WORST INJURIES THAT YOU HAVE HAD TO DATE?

Blasted the shit out of my left shoulder four years ago. It got so bad when we were filming Futureproof if I fell that shit would come out of socket and be out for four hours until I could get to an emergency room to have it put back in. Took four surgeries all in one go to fix that one. The Dr. Could not believe how fucked up it was and that I was still riding on it. Feels great now though, thanks to Dr. Beck. Shattered the base of my femur at the knee joint that one sucked. Some concussions really hate those. (ribs suck) too. Broken humerous.

WHERE WERE YOU A YEAR AGO?

Living the Dream. Had a tight Vans sponsorship. Snowboarding year around mixing in some other sports into my life. Surfing, Skateboarding, Mountain Biking, Martial arts.

WHERE ARE YOU NOW?

Still Living the Dream. Just got back from a season in Argentina where I had a coaching job at sass to stay on the snow, with no major sponsorship any more it getting a little more tricky to keep the dream alive. No matter what though planning on having a great winter, so much to do right hear (in my backyard) in Utah. The backcountry is free and the 2010 winter is going to be a blast.

WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO BE A YEAR FROM NOW?

Just as stoked for the 2011 winter with a few more tricks and lines under my belt, along with More knowledge about the mountain and life. Riding Alaska, and Las Lenas are pretty high on the list. More for my own mental health than any thing.
